The mosque, which opened in November 2003, is the home for the Ahmadiyya jamath in the Chicago area. The land for the mosque was purchased in 1983, and members of the Ahmadiyya jamath spent the next two decades raising funds, securing zoning changes and working with neighbors on the design.
