The Aqsa Mosque is located in the small municipal council of Qadian, a part of the Gurdaspur District of the state of Punjab, India. Known all over the world as the birth place of the Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, Qadian is famous for its rich religious history. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, a religious scholar of great repute, founded the Ahmadiyya sect of Muslim religion, an initiative started in the 19th century as an Islamic reformist movement.
